LEAYSA FOOTBALL FAQs

LEAGUE / BOARD

Do board members get paid?

There are no paid board positions within LEAYSA Football. LEAYSA is a non-profit organization and relies solely on volunteers for all board positions, as well as director positions.

Please consider joining as a coach, team manager, board member or just volunteer your time.  We can always use positive influences and another set of hands.  Contact football.leaysa@gmail.com for more information.

Does LEAYSA Football have an office that I can go and talk to someone?

LEAYSA is solely run on volunteers, therefore there is no office. However if you need to contact someone, go to the "Football Board" tab and e-mail the individual you wish to contact or simply email football.leaysa@gmail.com to email all board members at once. We also have board meetings once a month that are open to the public.  The event schedule information can be found on the main Football page.  http://www.leaysa.com/football

Will there be football equipment for sale at registration?

The LEAYSA football league does not furnish personal football equipment (i.e., helmets, shoulder pads, cleats, etc.) for the season. However, we will have a vendor on site to provide an your family with an opportunity to purchase/order items you may need for the season.

Do you offer a multi-child discount?

Yes. LEAYSA Football will give $10 off for each additional child, make sure to follow the registration links closely so the discount will be applied correctly.

What forms of payment are accepted at registration?

Visa, MasterCard, or automatic draft. Payment for registration is due at the time of registration.  We will allow payment installments which you can select during registration.

What is certification and why is my child's birth certificate or report card needed?

LEAYSA is a grade specific league.  This mirrors UIL rules and allows kids to play in the same age group as their classmates.  For school age children we will need their most recent report card to verify the grade level they will play in.  For those who are not yet enrolled in school (i.e. 4 or 5 year olds) a birth certificate will be required.

These can be automatically uploaded during registration so you don't have to hassle with it again.

Are full or partial scholarships available if I cannot afford for my child to participate?

LEAYSA Football’s executive board will evaluate the application for families requesting scholarship assistance. Each family who applies for scholarship assistance is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Once all scholarship requests have been evaluated, LEAYSA Football's executive board will determine what families get full, partial or denial of scholarship assistance based upon their independent evaluation. If awarded a full or partial scholarship, please note that this is only for the registration fee, and does not include any equipment or team fees that may incur. Please fill out the online application and email it to treasurer@leaysa-football.com.

Your personal information will be kept in the strictest confidence so please apply.  Our hope is every child is able to play a sport they love.  We are here to help if you need it.

Since I registered online, does my child have to attend Combine and equipment fittings?

All registrants are highly encouraged to attend Combine, but are not required.  Fittings are also highly recommended to ensure your player's uniform is correct.  If you do not attend a fitting session and the uniform is not the correct size, you will be required to purchase another uniform at your expense.  We do our best to offer various fitting sessions to give you options, but it is your responsibility to attend one of them.

Does your league have a weight limit?

The NTFA rules, which LEAYSA Football abides by, does not have a weight limit.

DRAFT / TEAM / COACHING

I coached last year and plan on returning, do I have to register again as a coach?

Yes, each coach must register every year. This includes Head Coach and all Assistants.

Often parents put a coach down not knowing if the coach is returning or not.  Please register early to help the draft process get completed as efficiently as possible.

What is COMBINE?

The combine is an event in which the athletes are tested in various drills to determine physical and athletic ability. This information is recorded and provided to the coaches during the draft to aid in placing your child on a team.
