When are practices and games?

Practices are held at the discretion of the coach, but typically fall Mon - Thurs between 6:00 and 8:00 pm.

Games are usually Saturday morning with our younger age groups starting first. Since older age groups require additional referees they typically start midday to early afternoon. Weekday games are always a possibility with rain-outs or as required to fit the number of games in to our scheduled season.

What equipment do I need?

LEAYSA Soccer will provide the game day uniform (jersey, shorts, and matching socks). You will need to purchase cleats, shinguards, and a ball for practice. It is also a good idea to purchase an additional pair of socks or two for practices.

How are our fees used?

LEAYSA Soccer is a non-profit organization which funnels our dues back to the players in various ways. Some of the big ticket items included in the dues are one uniform per year (Fall to Spring), trophies in the Fall and Spring, Gotsoccer fees, North Texas Soccer Fees (which includes our insurance), payment for referees, an end of the year celebration after the Spring season, and with our new partnership with FC Dallas comes 2 free tickets to LEAYSA Soccer appreciation night at an FC Dallas game.

Do we play over Spring Break?

We typically schedule one weekend adjacent to Spring Break, typically the second weekend of Spring Break. Some of our older divisions however play with other associations so they may have games that first weekend.

What is a build out line?

The build out line is used to promote playing the ball out of the back in an unpressured setting.

When the goalkeeper has the ball, either during play (from the opponent] or from a goal kick, the opposing team must move behind the build out line.

Once the opposing team is behind the build out line, the goalkeeper can pass, throw or roll the ball to a teammate (Punting is not allowed).

After the ball is put into play by the goalkeeper, the opposing team can cross the build out line and play resumes as normal.

If the opposing team reenters the build out area prior to the ball being put in play, the keeper will repeat the previous restart.

If a goalkeeper punts the ball, an indirect free kick should be awarded to the opposing team from the spot of the offense.

If the punt occurs within the goal area, the indirect free kick should be taken on the goal area line parallel to the goal line at the nearest point to where the infringement occurred.

If a member of the opposing team does not move outside the build out line and becomes involved in play an indirect free kick will be awarded to the attacking team.
